REEF CANADA interview SURF team LOGAN LANDRY

As far as Nova Scotia goes for me its my home I have lived here my entire life and there is something special about it for me because everyday I go surfing it seems like I find something new weather it be a new spot or finding waves in places I have never thought to look and some of the waves we have found are world class. And as far as the east coast goes seems to me like I am in the right spot as far as most consistent waves and the set ups we have are so vast that we haven’t even really come close to finding all of them. And that for me is why I like it here so much.

If I could surf anywhere in the world right now I would have to say somewhere that was new and that I have never been and someplace with some new culture to experience because getting good waves is what you go there for but to experience a different culture and how other people live I think is one of the best forms of education a person can get by trying different foods to learning some of the local language is always a fun part of traveling.

When I am not surfing I like to go golfing, fishing, skateboarding, snowboarding and dabble a bit into photography and painting although I am not very good at the whole painting thing but its fun. Also I have been plugging away at getting my marketing deg online so I am always doing something if I am not in the water.

Well the Mazda thing came about my dad is really good friends with someone who works for Mazda and he just so happened to be from California and surfed so he came up in the summer and I took him surfing he saw the marketing opportunity for a car company to have a in the Canadian surfing community and asked if I would be up to it and I was more than thrilled to do it and so far everything is going well they plan on doing ads and I just got done a interview for a magazine in the UK so its been a fun first month with the company and them seem to be really keen on the idea of surfing in Canada.

I like my lobster hot I do like sushi though so maybe ill have to try and make some kind of lobster sushi sometime that could be good but ya hot lobster for me right now with lots of butter and roles might be having it for eater dinner if I am lucky.

I had a dream last night. I was flying down a hill on my board, it was night time and I had a huge neon tube, thing on my head. I got into an accident, involving many other people doing the same thing I was doing. Life is too short…so listen to lots of Too Short!!

Reef Surf Update

Posted By JDott on September 22nd, 2009

Reef’s surfshreds have been hard at work this summer/fall. Ben Bourgeois and Mick Fanning both grabbed top podium spots recently (Ben @ the Hurley Outer Banks Pro on Wrightsville Beach, and Mick @ the ASPs Hurley Pro held at Trestles)

Ben grabbed $5000 for his aerial antics, while Mick charged at lightning speed to secure his second place seating in the ASP behind Joel Parkinson. Could a second world title be in the cards? We’ll see…

Rob Machado was also in the Mix at Trestles but was shutdown by the explosive surfing of Dane Reynolds. Rob’s comment on the loss…”I like surfing”…there you have it folks.

in other Reef randomness, Jay Thompson, Paul Fisher, and Reef team manager “Nutty” engaged in some surf tag at Jim Beam’s malibu event. I’m sure bourbon is a performance stimulant of some sort, at least Fish probably thinks so…
